Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit to Fannin County Criminal History, the purposes for which it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use the website, you acknowledge the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider handles the request and returns its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring website, when one is supplied
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • Your device's IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services use them to understand site traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although parts of the website may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected partner
  • Operate, maintain, and improve website performance
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site describes where Fannin County records may be requested from the Sheriff, court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Government Code Chapter 411 controls the authorized dissemination of Texas criminal-history record information by the state and other qualified entities. It does not turn this private reference site into a government repository. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's own privacy policy governs the information submitted through its tool, including retention and sharing choices. We do not control those practices. Review the provider's policy before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Fannin County offices, courts, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy terms apply. Read them before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may use their systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking infrastructure.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
  • Advertising networks that place ads
  • Search providers processing a query you submit
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal requirement

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard safeguards for the information in our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may grant rights over personal data based on where you live and how a business processes that data. Texas Public Information Act Chapter 552 governs requests to Texas governmental bodies, not ordinary requests to this privately operated website. Government Code Chapter 411 separately limits dissemination of criminal-history record information. Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete personal data where the law requires or permits deletion
  • Honor an available opt-out from covered processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. Any new version will appear here with an updated effective date, so review this page periodically for changes.
